India’s Rachel Gupta has been crowned Miss Grand International 2024!
India’s Rachel Gupta has been named Miss Grand International 2024! She received her crown from her predecessor, Miss Grand International 2023, Luciana Fuster of Peru, during the coronation night in Bangkok, Thailand, on Friday.
The runners-up included CJ Opiaza from the Philippines (1st), Myanmar (2nd), France (3rd), and Brazil (4th).
Following the announcement of the Top 5, the finalists participated in a question-and-answer segment. They were asked, “What do you think is the most critical issue in the world today that needs to be resolved, and what solutions do you propose?”
Rachel responded, “I believe the most pressing issue the world faces today is poverty, stemming from overpopulation and a lack of resources. Simply put, there isn’t enough for everyone on this planet. It’s time for world leaders to take responsibility and promote the idea of ensuring sufficient resources for all. We can achieve this by advocating for birth control methods in different countries. I come from India, where not everyone has access to food, water, education, and basic amenities, a reality that is true for many parts of the world. We must stop fighting among ourselves and start respecting one another, ensuring there are enough resources for everyone on this planet. Thank you.”
Meanwhile, although CJ did not win the crown, she delivered an impressive performance.
During the evening gown segment, she dazzled in a low-cut silver sequin gown paired with a flowing white cape designed by Filipino designer Mak Tumang. She also turned heads in a striking white two-piece during the swimsuit portion of the pageant.
The Miss Grand International 2024 coronation night took place at the MGI Hall in Bravo BKK Mall.
