South Africa upsets Australia to qualify for the Women’s T20 World Cup final

South Africa upsets Australia to qualify for the T20 World Cup final.

It’s Bosch who finishes the match!

Megan Schutt delivers a full toss, and Bosch elegantly sends it through mid-wicket for a four.

What an incredible victory for South Africa, eliminating the defending champions with relative ease. Bosch walks off unbeaten, greeted by a jubilant South African dugout.

She scored 74 runs off 48 balls, propelling South Africa into the final—marking their first win against Australia in a Women’s T20 World Cup.

Let’s take a moment to appreciate the magnitude of this achievement: Australia has reached the last seven finals, winning six, including the last three.

The only time the Southern Stars missed a final was in the tournament’s inaugural edition, where England triumphed over New Zealand. South Africa’s Anneke Bosch shared, “My heart is racing. It was quite tough out there, and I was really glad to contribute with some runs.

“We aimed to keep it simple and focus on what works for us. I didn’t want to overcomplicate things; I just played according to the conditions.

“The motivational speeches before the game really fired us up and helped us stay focused on our goals for the day.

“It means a lot to reach our second consecutive final; I can’t really describe it. We knew we had the potential, and with a strong tournament behind us, we felt confident. Our bowlers did an excellent job restricting them to under 140.

“Thank you to all the fans for your incredible support. We truly feel it.”

CONGRATULATIONS SOUTH AFRICA FOR secure a spot in the T20 World Cup final.
