New Report Suggests Dynamic Island Design to Remain Unchanged on iPhone 17 Pro Max
A fresh report has dampened earlier hopes of Apple revamping its Dynamic Island feature on the upcoming iPhone 17 Pro Max. If the latest insights are accurate, this distinctive feature might remain consistent across both the iPhone 16 and iPhone 17 series.
Apple fans know the company still has some time before unveiling the iPhone 17 lineup. Based on current timelines, the iPhone 16 Pro Max (starting at $1,179 for a refurbished premium model on Amazon) and its more affordable versions won’t see their replacements until around mid-September next year. Until then, the tech giant is expected to focus on releasing the next iPhone SE, which could debut this quarter as the iPhone 16e, rumored to feature surprisingly compact dimensions.
While excitement builds around Apple’s next flagship series, rumors about possible design changes have already begun swirling. One particularly intriguing claim suggested that only the iPhone 17 Pro Max would sport a smaller Dynamic Island. However, trusted Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has put this speculation to rest.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Kuo shared that the Dynamic Island design is unlikely to change between the iPhone 16 and iPhone 17 series. He described the feature’s appearance as being “largely unchanged,” even as Apple introduces innovations like its new “Air” product segment. For now, it seems Apple intends to stick with the Dynamic Island design for its iPhones, at least until later this decade.
Although this might not be the news some Apple enthusiasts were hoping for, it’s worth noting that the company often focuses on gradual evolution rather than drastic design changes. As always, time will tell how Apple surprises us next.
